STAFF REPORT
Plans for cleaning box culverts and catch basins in
Fiscal Year 1997/98. at various locations have been prepared and
the project is ready to be advertised for bids. The project
consists, in general, of cleaning box culverts at approxinately
14 intersections and cleaning approxinately 150 catch basins.
Below is an estinate of the total project cost.

Engineering & Inspection
The preliminary 1997/98 Budget for the National Pollutant
Discharge Elinination System (NPDES) progran contained an amount
of $85,000 for Professional/Contractual Services, under Account
No. 001-308-5502. A reduction of $7,100, in H, S & S and Pro-
fessional Services, was required in order to meet our targeted
budget. All costs incurred under this contract will be charged
to the amount actually allocated for Professional/Contractual
Services in the final 1997/98 Budget.
