for bids.
Recommended motion:
1. That the transfer of $7,500, frOM Account No. 250-370-5504-
1942, "liinor ImproveMents - Various Locations," to Account No.
250-370-5504-7077, "Traffic Signals at Marshall Boulevard and
'E' Street," be approved.
And
2. Adopt resolution.

STAFF REPORT
Bids for modification of traffic signals at Mt. Vernon
Avenue and 7th Street, and "E" Street at Marshall Boulevard, were
received at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, 5-13-97.
A total of 7 bids were received, ranging from $111,500 to
$131,280. The low bid of $111,500 is 19.9% over the Engineer's
EstiMate of $93.000.
Below is the total estimated project coste based upon the
actual low bid price:
Construction Contract -
"E" Street & Marshall Boulevard - $ 63,000
Mt. Vernon Avenue & 7th Street 48,500
$ 111,500
Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #7077 & 7078) 9,000
Edison Meter Fees 500
Sub. Total $ 121,000
Contingencies (5%) :!: 6,500
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 127,500
A total aMount of $120,000 has been allocated for these
traffic signal upgrades, under Accounts No. 250-370--5504-7077 and
250-370-5504-7078. The necessary supplemental funds in the
aMount of $7,500 could be allocated from the available balance
under Account No. 250-370-5504-1942, "Minor IMprovements
Various Locations."
The budgeted amount did not
