The school has met all the requirements from the Police Department to obtain a special events permit. Attached is a letter from the applicant requesting a waiver of fees from the Mayor and Council of costs associated with the event. Also attached is a memo from the Police Department estimating their costs at $1,462.62 for manpower and equipment needed for the event. Apr-24-97 10:57A Randall E. We would appreciate your consideration to reduce or waive the fee for this event, since this is a community event and it provides funds for improvements to our school and church. The event will start at 10:30 a.m., and will continue until approximately 8:00 p.m. The event will be held at 796 W. 48th Street. A map of the event is attached. The Traffic Office is processing the event application and will be forwarding the package to Risk Management when it is complete. On Sunday, May 18th, 1997, the Our Lady of the Assumption School and Church will be holding their annual "Fun Fair" school camival. The event, which Is open to the public, is a fund raising effort and has been held for the past several years. Numerous game booths and activities are planned. The event will be held between 10:30 hours and 2000 hours and take place on the schoollchurch grounds. There will be about twenty game booths and six food booths, including a beerlwine/margarita area (an A.B.C. on sale permit has been or will be obtained prior to the event.) Under periodic supervision of a police sergeant, tv.o sworn and two reserve officers will patrol the school and church grounds, primarily on foot.
