Certification of Election (Measure S)
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Pursuant to Section 11 of our City Charter, a canvass of election returns for
the Special Municipal Election of March 18, 1997, was conducted at 1:30 p.m.
on Thursday, March 20.
The Charter requires that at the next regular or adjourned regular council meeting
following completion of the canvass, the Mayor and Council shall declare the results
of an election official as certified by the City Clerk.
Attached are the Statement of Votes Cast and the Certification of Election Results
for the Special Municipal Election held on March 18, 1997.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
That the results of the City of San Bernardino's Special Municipal Election
(Measure S), held on March 18, 1997, as set forth in the Statement of Votes
Cast and Certified, be declared official.

I, RACHEL G. CLARK, City Clerk of the City of San
Bernardino, County of San Bernardino, State of California, DO
HEREBY CERTIFY that pursuant to the provisions of the Charter
of the City of San Bernardino did canvass the returns of the
vote cast in the City of San Bernardino, in said County, in the
Special Municipal Election held on March 18, 1997, for Measure
S (police and fire protection tax), and that the Statement of
Votes Cast, to which this certificate is attached, shows the
whole number of votes cast for or against the measure, and that
the total of votes cast is full, true and correct.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the official seal of the City of San Bernardino this
24th day of March, 1997.
