STAFF REPORT
PROBLEM
Fire Department needs to hire twenty-one (21) personnel in April to have them ready for
emergency transport service on May 1, 1997. We are unable to purchase their safety clothing
until we can measure the candidates for the correct sizing.
Recommendation
Mayor and Common Council authorize the Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order to
Allstar Fire Equipment for twenty-one (21) sets ofstructural firefighting gear. Total cost
$21,903.87. Authorize Allstar Fire Equipment to provide purchases offire safety clothing to
meet the time frame.
Findina:s
Allstar Fire Equipment can provide safety clothing that will meet our time frame and can provide
clothing that meets industry safety standards. They have enough gear to stock to immediately
outfit all twenty-one (21) ParamediclFirefighters.
