(IDGHLAND SENIOR CENTER) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ REW:NJO:lag:03-17-05.cdc COMMISSION MEETING AGENDA MEETING DATE: o3fiI997 Agenda Item Number: :) e e e ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENCY STAFF REPORT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ First Amendment - Campfire Bovs & Girls: Hiehland District Council on Aeine This item requests additional funds and/or an extension of time for project completion for the following projects: CAMPFIRE BOYS & GIRLS - SAN ANDREAS On July 1, 1995, an Agreement (95-211) between the City and the Club was effective. The agreement provided Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program funds for air conditioning units, a fire and sprinkler alarm system, security fencing and lighting and any necessary engineering and design specifications, for the building located at 536 West 11th Street. In January 1997, an invitation for bid was released and two (2) bids received after the bid opening in February. The original amount ofCDBG funds awarded to the project was $45,200. The bids received were for $51,524 without fees for permits and $51,363 with permit fees. Allowing for a contingency, an additional $11,800 is needed to assure the completion of the project. Also, the original agreement had an expiration date of December 31, 1996. This date needs to be extended to June 30, 1997 to allow for an adequate construction period. IDGHLAND SENIOR CENTER The original CDBG agreement (95-209) was effective on July 1,1995. The agreement provided for the instaI1ation of a central heating and air conditioning system for the building located at 3102 East Highland Avenue. In January 1997, an invitation for bid was released and three (3) bids received after the bid opening in February. The original amount ofCDBG funds awarded in FY1995/1996 was $70,000. The lowest bid received was $107,966. Allowing for a contingency, an additional $48,800 is needed to assure the completion of the project. Also, the original agreement had an expiration date of December 31, 1996. City and Subrecipient agree as follows: WITNESSETH Community Development Block Grant Whereas, City and Subrecipient have previously entered into agreement 95-211 , dated JULY 1. 1995 referred to as ("Agreement"), for facility renovations of the building at ~ WEST 11 TH STREET. San Bernardino; and Whereas, City and Subrecipient desire to amend said agreement to include the subrecipient's completion of the modifications; and Whereas, City and Subrecipient desire to increase the amount of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in the amount of ELEVEN THOUSAND EIGHT- mJNDRED AND NO/IOO Dollars ($11,800) to allow Subrecipient to complete this project. Now therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein set forth and the mutual benefit to be derived there from, the parties agree as follows: 1.
