STAFF REPORT
It is requested that the Mayor and Common Council approve the Cooperative/Piggyback
Purchase of two (2) 3/4 Ton Pick-up trucks with Service Body for the Facilities
Management Department. Both trucks have surpassed their serviceable life and have
become an economic burden to maintain as listed below:

Notices inviting bids for a 19973/4 Ton Pick-up truck with Service Body, Bid No. F-97-
09-B, were sent to 23 vendors; eight (8) sealed bids were received and were opened on
December 3, 1996. The results are as follows:

The cost and technical specifications of all bids were reviewed and the low bid of Robert
H. Loud Ford was found to be acceptable and met or exceeded all items called for in the
specification. During the Council meeting of January 27,1997 the Mayor and Common
Council authorized a purchase based on this bid.
It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council authorize the Purchasing
Manager to issue a Cooperative/Piggyback Purchase order for the amount of $44,686.00
from the vehicle replacement fund to Robert H. Loud Ford to purchase two (2) 1997 Ford
3/4 Ton Pick-Up with Service Body.
