Arviso Counsel's Executive Assistant City of San Bernardino 300 North "0" Street San Bernardino, CA 92418 Re: Parking Commission Dear Mr. Arviso: Jordan Grinker suggested I write and send a resume regarding a position on the parking commission. Regretfully, after much searching, I was unable to find my resume, which I am happy to say hasn't been needed for almost the past two decades. In lieu of this, please allow the following narrative to serve as a summary of my education, experience and employment. I graduated from Romona High School in 1975. In 1979 I graduated with an Associates Degree from Riverside City College. I received the Browse Scholarship from City College, the Author G. Pawl scholarship, and was Southern California recipient of the Bank of America Community College Award. While at City College I was employed as an English Tutor and an EOP Counselor. I transferred to the University of California, Davis, in 1977. I received my Bachelors Degree in 1979, in Political Science with emphasis in Public Administration and Political Theory. Among other things. I was employed as the director of Davis' Whole Earth Festival, a three day music. art and craft fair drawing over 30,000 participants, in 1978/79. I attended the University of California Davis School of Law (King Hall). receiving my Juris Doctorate in 1982. While in law school. I was employed as one of two contracts teaching assistants and as a law clerk for the firm of Memmering and DeMers in Sacramento. . - -.....: After receiving my Juris Doctorate, I passed the California Bar Exam in November, 1982. I remained for a short period of time as an associate attorney at Memmering and DeMers, before returning home. On February 1, 1983, I took a pOSition as a associate with the law offices of Wilson, Borror, Dunn & Scott, a firm established in San Bernardino in 1923. In two and one- half years I became a partner in the firm and, three years later became managing partner. As you can see from the letterhead, the firm is now Wilson, Borror, Dunn & Davis. Professionally, I have represented various public entities, including the Cities of San Bernardino, Colton, Yucaipa, Ontario, Upland and Lake Elsinore. I have also represented numerous condominium homeowners associations, property management companies, and countless individuals. I have served as Judge Pro Tem in the Superior and Municipal Courts, and was a founding mentor of the local chapter of the American Inns of Court. While in San Bernardino I have also been the founding president of the American Lung Association of the Inland Counties, served a term as director of Inland Counties Legal Services (the Federal and State legal aid program), and as a director for the Downtown Business Association. I am currently a Director and Vice-Chairman of the Board (Assessment) for the Family Service Agency of San Bernardino. I am a guest lecturer at California State University San Bernardino, and volunteer there in the College Legal Clinic. I am a guest editor for the Inland Empire Business Journal. I hope the above adequately summarizes my background and experience and enables you to make a decision regarding my qualifications to become a commissioner. If you have any other questions or concerns, don't hesitate to call. Very truly yours, WILSON, BORROR, DUNN & DAVIS By L--L:- THOMAS M.
