STAFF REPORT Subiect: Standards for permanent outdoor displays Mayor and Common Council, February 17, 1997 REOUEST That Planning Staff be directed to prepare a Development Code Amendment to establish standards by which permanent outdoor displays of merchandise may be permitted. BACKGROUND The Mayor and Common Council adopted MC-972 on July 5, 1996, which allows permanent outdoor displays for major tenants, 15,000 square feet or larger. After receiving an application for permanent outdoor display, staff determined a need to establish standards by which such displays could be permitted. COSTS TO CITY Staff estimates the cost to the City would be approximately $450.00 for staff preparation time. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council direct Planning Staff to prepare a Development Code Amendment to establish standards by which permanent outdoor displays may be permitted.
