for engineering design services, including selection of
Consulting Engineers.
08--17-92 - Resolution No. 92-343 adopted authorizing execution of
an agreement with DMJM for design services.
12-21-92 Preferred alignMent approved and authorization granted
to proceed with design.
05-01--95 Resolution No. 95-131 adopted authorizing execution of
an Agreement with McDaniel Engineering.
08-19-96 Resolution No. 96-260 adopted authorizing execution of
Program Supplement No. 84.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for extension of Orange Show Road, froM Arrowhead
Avenue to Tippecanoe Avenue, in accordance with Plan No. 9142, be
approved; and the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be
authorized to advertise for bids.

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
Plans for the extension of Orange Show Road, from
Arrowhead Avenue to Tippecanoe Avenue, have been completed and
the proj ect is ready to be advertised for bids. The proj ect
consists, in general, of constructing bridges over the Santa Ana
River and East Twin Creek Channel, a 4-1ane divided roadway, and
traffic signals at Arrowhead Avenue, Washington Avenue and
Waterman Avenue. In addition, a water main and sewer main will
be included in the contract as non-participating items in the
Federal-Aid funding.

TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST
All costs incurred for this project will be charged to
Account No. 242-362-5504-1996. An amount of $10,234,063 has been
programmed by SANBAG from Federal-Aid STP Funds to reimburse the
City for 88% of the total construction cost incurred. The 12%
local matching fund requirement ($1,325,937) will be financed by
the Inland Valley Development Agency.
The City Water Department has requested that we include
the installation of a 16-inch water main in Orange Show Road,
from Arrowhead Avenue to Waterman Avenue. All costs incurred for
this facility, estimated at $235,000, will be financed by the
Water Department.
A 12-inch sewer main will also be included in the
contract, from the 54-inch interceptor in Amos Avenue to Waterman
Avenue. The sewer main was installed from Waterman Avenue to the
Santa Ana River under a previous contract. All costs incurred
for this sewer main will be charged to the $383,600 allocated
under Account No. 245-365-5504-1514.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids.
