STAFF REPORT
It is requested that the Mayor and Common Council approve the procurement of
thirteen (13) Compact Sedans. The Vehicle Replacement Fund provides for the
replacement of the thirteen (13) vehicles. Five (5) of the replacement vehicles
are full size and two (2) are mid-size; however, it is the goal of the Fleet
Manager to downsize vehicle size in order to reduce operation and maintenance
costs. All replacement vehicles have surpassed their serviceable life and have
become an economic burden to maintain. The replacement vehicles are:

were sent to 28 vendors; twelve (12) sealed bids were received and were opened
on January 30, 1997. The results are as follows:

The cost and technical specifications of all bids were reviewed. The low bid of
Del Arno Dodge was found to be acceptable and met or exceeded all items called for
in the specification.
It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council authorize the purchasing
manager to issue a purchase order for the amount of $164,552.69 to Del Amo Dodge
to purchase thirteen (13) Compact Sedans.
