STAFF REPORT
It is requested that the Mayor and Common Council approve the
procurement of two (2) one (1) ton cargo vans for the
Telecommunications and Public Works Departments. The vehicles
scheduled for replacement are listed below:

Notices inviting bids for two (2) 1997 one (1) ton vans, Bid No. F-
97-16-C, were sent to 28 vendors; twelve (12) sealed bids were
received and opened on January 30, 1997. The results are as

The cost and technical specifications of all bids were reviewed.
The low bid of Fairview Ford was found to be acceptable and met or
exceeded all items called for in the specification.
It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council authorize the
Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for the amount of
$33,182.70 to Fairview Ford to purchase two (2) 1997 One (1) Ton
Vans.
