REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
It is requested that the Mayor and Common Council approve the
procurement of four (4) mid-size sedans. The Vehicle Replacement
Fund provides for the replacement of three (3) vehicles and the
Police Department Asset Forfeiture Fund will provide financing for
fourth vehicle. Vehicle procurement is an eligible use of asset
forfeiture proceeds. All replacement vehicles have surpassed their
serviceable life and have become an economic burden to maintain.
The replacement vehicles are:

Notices inviting bids for four (4) 1997 mid-size sedans, Bid No. F-
97-16-D, were sent to 28 vendors; twelve (12) sealed were received
and were opened on January 30, 1997. The results are as follows:

The cost and technical specifications of all bids were reviewed.
The low bid of Wondries Ford was found to be acceptable and met or
exceeded all items called for in the specification.
It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council authorize the
purchasing manager to issue a purchase order for the amount of
$66,917.06 to Wondries Ford to purchase four (4) 1997 mid-size
sedans.
