Soccer Complex were opened by Empire A/G Recreation, LLC on Friday, 1--03-97, in the office of HAPCO, at 680 South vlaterman Avenue. A representative of the City's Departr.lent of Public Works was present. It should be noted that although the .Toint Development Agreement provided for a Public \vorks bid, a process similar to that used for bidding construction of New pine Avenue was deemed more ~ppropriate. Also, relocation of the Community Gardens was performed under separate contract aVlarded by the City. A total of two bids were $2,703,454.65 and $2,862,782.00. widening of Arden Avenue. Empire has advised us, by proposal dated 1-21-97, that they will exercise their right to match the lowest responsible bid. Below is a breakdown of the proposal by Empire of the contract price. Soccer Complex The Construction Cost Budget, attached as Exhibit "G" to the Joint Development Agreement, lists an ap.!ount of $2,796,339 for the contract cost, including the $88,000 for the relocation of the gardens. It also included an amount of $176,039 for contingencies. At the Council meeting of 10-21-96, action was taken to allocate $172,500 for the wideninq of Arden Avenue. Available funds for this project are: - Soccer Complex - (JDA Agreement) Contingencies (6.5%) $ 2,620,300* 176,039 $ 2,796,339 Sub-Total Widen Arden Avenue (Account No. 129-367-5504-7064) TOTAL FUNDS AVAILABLE 172,500 $ 2,968,839 *Does not include the $88,000 for relocation of the COmP.Iunty Gardens.
