Lorraine Velarde, Mayor's Executive Assistant Suzanna Cordova, Deputy City Clerk Ed Paul, President of the California Municipal Business Tax Association, and Susan Oliver, Certification Chairman, have notified the City that four employees in the City Clerk's Office have earned their "Certified Revenue Officer" certificates and have been recognized for their knowledge and expertise in the business license and related fields. The California Municipal Business Tax Association (C.M.B.T.A.) was founded over 27 years ago to advance the administration of municipal business tax ordinances. In 1991, the C.M.B.T.A. began a certification program to acknowledge its members who have demonstrated skill, knowledge and experience in the areas of business tax and revenue collection. C.M.B.T.A. now has over 250 Certified Revenue Officers across the state. Joining that list are the following employees from the City Clerk's Office, Business Registration Division: CINDY BUECHTER, ROGER DAVIS, LARRY FINEMAN, AND MICHAEL STANLEY. In addition to having become a CRO, Michael Stanley has been elected to serve as Division IV Third Vice President for 1997. Michael Stanley has also spent many hours taping some of the classes which are now available for other members to view. Michael has given much of his own time for the betterment of C.M.B.T.A. please join me in congratulating Cindy Buechter, Roger Davis, Larry Fineman, and Michael Stanley for earning their "Certified Revenue Officer" certificates and for the contributions they have made to C.M.B.T.A.
