REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
It is requested that the Mayor and Common Council approve th,e
procurement of two (2) 3/4 Ton Pick-Up Trucks for the Public
Services Department, Street Division, The Vehicle Replacement Fund
provides for the replacement of the two (2) trucks. Both trucks
have surpassed their'serviceable life and have become an economic
burden to maintain. During the last twelve months major engine
components have failed increasing the operating cost per mile and
these vehicles are no longer reliable. The vehicles scheduled for
replacement are listed below:

Notices inviting bids for two (2) 1997 3/4 Ton Pick-Up Trucks, Bid
No. F-97-09-F, were sent to 23 vendors; eight (8) bids were
received and opened on December 3, 1996. The results are as
follows:

The cost and technical specifications of all bids were reviewed.
The low bid of Robert H. Loud Ford was found to be acceptable and
met or exceeded all items called for in the specification.
It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council authorize the
Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for the amount of
$38,307.20 to Robert H. Loud Ford to purchase two (2) 1997 Ford 3/4
Ton Pick-Up Trucks.
