REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
It is requested that the Mayor and Common Council approve the
procurement of one (1) 3/4 Ton Pick-Up Truck with Service Body for
the Public Services Department/Sewer Section. The Vehicle
Replacement Fund provides for the replacement of one (1) 3/4 Ton
Pick-Up Truck assigned to the Streets Division, Sewer Maintenance
Section. The 1989 Chevrolet (Unit No. 0507) 3/4 Ton Pick-Up has
become an economic burden to maintain and has accrued approximately
98,000 miles.
Notices inviting bids for a 1997 3/4 Ton Pick-Up Truck with Service
Body, Bid No. F-97-09-B, were sent to 23 vendors; eight (8) bids
were received and opened on December 3, 1996. The results are as
follows:

The cost and technical specifications of all bids were reviewe~.
The low bid of Robert H. Loud Ford was found to be acceptable and
met or exceeded all items called for in the specification.
It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council authorize the
Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for the amount of
$22,343.00 to Robert H. Loud Ford to purchase a 1997 Ford 3/4 Ton
Pick-Up with Service Body.
