STAFF REPORT
A request was received from the Police Department for
overnight parking to be prohibited on Belle Street and 6th
Street, in the vicinity of Secconbe Lake Park. This request was
nade in order to have better control of crime activity in the
area.
Parking is already prohibited within all parks fron 10:00
p.m. to 6:00 a.m. However, since Belle Street and 6th Street are
public streets, this restriction does not apply.
The area of 6th Street only serves park property. Belle
Street is entirely park property on the west side, and there are
two vacant businesses on the east side. Consequently, no adverse
effect is expected as a result of the proposed parking restric-
tions.
We recommend that the prohibition on overnight parking be
approved.
