CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT TO: FROM: DATE: RE: Honorable Mayor & Members of the Common Council Rachel G. Clark, City Clerk August 21, 1997 Designation of Voting Delegate for League of California Cities Annual Conference October 12-14, 1997, San Francisco, California. The League of California Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for Sunday, October 12 through Tuesday, October 14, 1997, in San Francisco. According to the League, one very important aspect of the Annual Conference is the General Business Meeting when the membership takes action on conference resolutions. Annual Conference resolutions guide cities and the League in efforts to improve the quality, responsiveness and vitality of local government in California. To expedite the conduct of business at the above-referenced policy- making meeting, the League has requested that each City designate a voting representative and an alternate who will be present at the General Business Meeting on Tuesday, October 14, 1997 at 9:30 a.m. at the Muscone Convention Center. Since the Mayor has indicated that he will be attending the conference, he will be the designated voting delegate; however, the Mayor and Council need to designate an alternate voting delegate in the event the Mayor is not able to attend the conference. 75~0264
