A request has been received from Mr. P. A.
requesting a wa1ver of the standard requirement to connect
City sewer system for a parcel located at 6060 N. Highway
attached letter - Exhibit nAn).

The parcel is approximately 1.15 acres in size, and is
located approxiMately one nile north of the intersection of
Highway 18 and Arrowhead Road (Exhibit nBn). The nearest sewer
main is approxinately 2,600 feet, measured in a straight line
fron an existing sewer in Mayfield Avenue. There is no existing
right-of-way or easement available and the terrain is steep and
rough.
This sewer waiver request is being nade in connection
with an application to construct a Single Family Residence on the
parcel.
Ordinance No. MC-663 provides that the Hayor and COMmon
Council nay waive the requirenent to connect to the City's sewer
system for a new Single Family Residence if the following
condition exists.
1. The proposed Single Family developnent will be built upon a
lot larger than one-half acre, and there is a natural
obstruction or a hill with an adverse grade that prevents the
practical extension of a sewer line to serve the development.
This parcel neets the above condition.
Approval of this waiver would not autonatically grant the
applicant permission to install a septic tank. An application
for a septic tank will still have to be submitted to the Depart-
ment of Planning and Building Services and will be subject to all
applicable conditions.
The $500.00 adninistrative processing fee has been paid
by the applicant (Receipt No. 697285).
We recommend that the request for a waiver of the
requirement to connect to the City's sewer system be approved.
