1. SIGN ORDINANCE - Item continued. City Attorney and
Planning and Building Director are to have a final meeting
with sign folks and finalize the draft ordinance for the Com-
mittee meeting of December 21.
2. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO SUPPORTING
THE CALIFORNIA DESERT PROTECTION ACT - Item continued to
first meeting in February.
3. PROPOSED ORDINANCE FOR THE COLLECTION OF COSTS IN
INVESTIGATION AND PROSECUTION OF CRIMES - Item tabled.

COUNCIL Item tabled. The City Attorney will

s. PROPOSED ORDINANCE REGULATING SHOPPING CARTS - After
considerable discussion, the Committee asked that the city
Attorney and City Administrator provide an ordinance that is
not repulsive, recoups cities costs, establishes a recovery
program and provides some kind of reciprocating agreement
between chain stores.

PENDING ITEMS:
8. PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1040-1/2 W. BASELINE, ISSUE OF
NON-CONFORMING RESIDENCE - Discussed at some length. The
Committee recommended this be sent back to Council on January
22. city Attorney and Planning and Building Director are to
provide pros/cons of allowing a house in any zone to be
rebuilt upon approval of an appeal to the Common Council.
