STAFF REPORT Plans for the rehabilitation of the pavement on Mt. Vernon Avenue, from Grant Avenue to Second Street, have been prepared by the Engineering Division, and the project is ready to be advertised for bids. Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost: Sub-Total Contingencies (15%)! TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 416,514 10,400 31,000 $ 457,914 68,086 $ 526,000 Construction Contract Preliminary Engineering (W.O. #1847) Construction Engineering . An amount of $407,800 is shown under Account No. 242-368- 57670. Federal-Aid Urban Funds represent 86% of this amount. Additional Federal-Aid Urban Funds will be provided to cover the overrun, which is a result of Caltrans requiring that the adverse grade at the East Twin Creek Bridge be corrected. An additional $16,548 in local funds will be needed to fully finance the total estimated cost. Caltran's share is estimated to be $5,709, which will leave $10,839 remaining. It is recommended that the necessary supplemental funds, if any, be provided after the bids are opened and the actual low bid price is known. At their meeting of 3-16-89, the City's Environmental Review Committee found that this project is exempt from the pro- visions of the California Environmental Qualify Act. We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization granted to advertise for bids. . 11-27-89 75.0264
