STAFF REPORT
.
The Engineering Division was requested to post 2-Hour
parking signs around the perimeter of the Feldheym Central
Library. This includes Sixth Street between "F" Street and "E"
Street, and "F" Street between 325 feet south of Sixth Street and
Sixth Street. "E" Street at this location is already posted with
a 2-hour parking limitation.
After surveying the affected residents/tenants, we
received a negative response from the occupants of the north side
of Sixth Street. The request for this area was then withdrawn.
Managers of the affected businesses on the west side of
"F" Street concurred with the request. The City Librarian, along
with back-up from the Police Department, requested this zone to
help alleviate the problem they have of long term parking by
transients, prostitutes, drug dealers, and other undesirables in
this area.
The request was reviewed by the Traffic Safety Advisory
Committee at their September 13, 1989 meeting. The Committee
concurred with the request and recommended that the 2-Hour
Parking Limitation be established as follows:

On the South Side of Sixth Street between "F" Street and
"E" Street; and
On both sides of "F" Street between 325 feet south of
Sixth Street and Sixth Street.
We recommend that the parking limitation be approved.
