Background: On August IS, 2005, the Mayor and Common Council allocated funds, as part of the FY 2005/06 Capital ImprovementProgram (CIP), for Pavement Rehabilitation at Pennsylvania Avenue from Base Line Street to 16th Street (SS06-39) & 2nd Street, from 1-215 Freeway to "E" Street (SS06-40), per Plan No. 11602. On May 15, 2006, the Mayor and Common Council adopted a resolution awarding a contract in the amount of $308,549.65 to Silvia Construction, Inc. for Pavement Rehabilitation at Pennsylvania Avenue from Base Line Street to 16th Street (SS06-39) & 2nd Street, from 1-215 Freeway to "E" Street (SS06-40), per Plan No. 11602. Change Order No. One, in the amount of $22,065.35, consists of the following changes: During construction, it was determined necessary to perform additional grind and overlay at an existing waterline trench. The contractor agreed to perform the work on a Saturday for cost and did not charge for move-inlmove-out of equipment. Financial Impact: The estimated project costs are as follows: TOTAL Orillinal Contract Amount $ 308,549.65 Contract Change Order No. One $ 22,065.35 Revised Construction Cost $ 330,615.00 Adequate funding for these projects is available in FY 2006/2007 CIP, Account No. 240-379-5504- 7617 (SS06-39). The contractor agreed to perform the work on a Saturday for cost without move-in/move-out equipment cost. AdditiDnal 288.62 tons of ASDhalt Item 1-2 On Pennsylvania A venue, it was necessary to add additional grinding of the- existing water No. trench. The repaving of this additional grinding resulted in additional asphalt concrete pavement.
