CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO -REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT SUBJECT Resolution electing to discontinue CalPERS contract providing health insurance benefits for City of San Bernardino Part-Time Elected Officials and Board Members. BACKGROUND The attached resolution applies to Part-Time Elected Officials and Board Members and supports the City's recommendation to exit the CalPERS Health Insurance Benefits Program effective 111104. This action was previously approved at the August 4, 2003 Mayor and Council meeting. The Mayor and Common Council initially adopted five resolutions, including one for full-time elected officials and board members. Afterwards, the City was informed by CalPERS that a resolution for part-time elected officials was inadvertently omitted. The reason for this agenda item is to include this additional resolution being requested by CaIPERS, specifically identifying part-time elected officials and board members.
