police and fire dispatch; and authorize the Purchasing Manager to re-advertise for bids
for these monitors.
Background:
Competitive bid #F03-007 for "Flat Screen Monitors" was published by the Purchasing
Department on August 14, 2002. It was sent to the San Bernardino Chamber of

The bids received from these vendors were only valid for 90 days and have expired.
Prices for flat screen monitors have dropped substantially since these bids were
received, and it is expected that the new bids will be significantly lower.
Municipal Code section 3.04.070E states that, "At its discretion, the Mayor and
Common Council shall have the power to reject any and all bids presented and re-
advertise for bids'. Staff is therefore requesting authorization to reject all bids submitted
under Bid No. F-03-007, and to authorize the Purchasing Manager to re-advertise for
bids for these monitors.
Recommendation:
That the Mayor and Common Council reject all bids received in response to Bid No. F-
03-007; and authorize the Purchasing Manager to re-advertise for bids for these
monitors.
