Every year during the Route 66 event vehicles register to participate in a cruising event.
Every year there is a problem of unregistered persons sneaking into the cruising event without
registration. Currently there is no way to prevent this from happening. By adding Section
10.24.230 to the San Bernardino Municipal Code, it will make it illegal for individuals to sneak
into the cruising event without registering as required by the San Bernardino Convention and
Visitor's Bureau.

6 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
7 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
8 SECTION 1. Section 10.24.230 is hereby added to the San Bernardino Municipal Code
9 to read as follows:
10.24.230
Prohibition from participating in Route 66 Cruising Events without
registration.
(A) It shall be unlawful for any person to enter the Route 66 Cruising Event without
registering to participate in said event in accordance with the procedures set up by
the San Bernardino Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
(B) Any person violating this provision is guilty of a misdemeanor or an infraction
which, upon conviction thereof, is punishable in accordance with the provisions
of Section 1.12.010 of this Code.
