Dear SirlMadam:
We have all heard the slogan "Support the Troops" now is the time to bring those words to
fruition.
VFW Post 1744, San Bernardino, Elks Lodge 836 San Bernardino, American Legion Post 14
San Bernardino and others are planning to sponsor a "Support The Troops Rally"
at Perris hill park on June 7, 2003. The activities will be comprised of public speakers, patriotic
music and singing. Food, (hot dogs apple pie and soft drinks) served for donations to "Operation
Uplink" signs banners displayed for support of the troops and Operation Uplink. Fund raising
activities raffies door prizes for donations.
The organizations are Non-Profits and all proceeds will go to the National VFW Program
Operation Uplink which provides servicemen and women with free phone time and uplinks to
call loved ones in the USA. Our TIN is 95-2136433.
Weare asking area bnsinesses to join us as major sponsors/contributors. One hundred nercent of
the proceeds of this rally will go to "Ooeration Unlink." We need financial support or goods in
kind. All businesses donation goods or funds in the amount of $500.00 or more will be billed as a
"Major Contributor" on all print advertising for the rally.
Please help us help our servicemen and women serving in the Middle East. A phone call tp a
loved one after months in a hardship theater of operations can bring some true happinllSli a~\l:t
raise the moral of our fighting men and women.
