STAFF REPORT
"Introduction to unix Networking" is a training seminar
offered at no charge to Digital customers. It will encompass
basic networking concepts, programs, utilities and management
tools inherent in the Ultrix environment. Ultrix is Digital
Corporation's flavor of the UNIX Operating System.
At the time of budget preparation, staff was unaware that
this course would be offered; therefore, it is not a budgeted
item. However, the only cost to the City would be the air
fare of approximately $100. Approval is recommended as the
seminar will provide a valuable basic understanding of the
networking concept, the overall goal for City automation.
