This resolution established off-site plan checking fees at 2.0% of the estimated cost of improvements, and inspec- tion fees at 1.5% of the estimated cost of improvements. A recommendation that off-site plan checking and inspec- tion fees be adjusted was accepted at the Special Council meeting of 11-8-90, and staff was directed to proceed to effect these adjustments. This recommendation was that the off-site plan checking fee be increased from 2.0% to 3% of the estimated cost of the improvements, and that off-site inspection fees be increased from 1.5% to 2.5% of the estimated cost of the improvements. These recommended increases are justified in view of the actual costs incurred to provide these services. The increased fees will generally be in line with surrounding agencies. It is estimated that these increases will result in an annual increase in revenue of $167,500, based upon the level of development projected in the 1990/91 Budget. Section 54992 of the Government Code requires that a public meeting be held to receive oral or written presentations before levying any new fee or service charge. This public meeting must be held during a regularly scheduled Council meeting. We recommend that a public meeting be scheduled for the Council meeting of 12-3-90. 11-9-90 75.0264
