CITY OF SAN BERNADINO - ReQUEST ~ COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
The County Assessor has made available to all interested parties, 35MM Aperture
Cards of the County Assessor's Maps.
These cards are very important to the processing and monitoring of all of the
Assessment Districts that we presently have and for those we will most certainly
have in the future. The Assessor also provides weekly updates to these cards so
that the parcel maps will always be up to date. This is not only crucial to the
Assessment Districts but for all information gathering related to property
inquiries.
.The Agreement with the County is renewable in two year increments and we would
want to continue the service in perpetuity. As this is directly related to the
City's Assessment Districts, the funding will come from the Assessment District
General Account which will be re-couped through a single annual assessment. A 3M
Viewer(Printer is also being acquired from this fund to provide the necessary
prints of the maps used in field work.
We therefore recommend that the Resolution be adopted.

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO ASSESSOR'S OFFICE FOR
APERTURE CARD SERVICES RELATIVE TO COUNTY ASSESSOR'S MAPS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute
on behalf of said City an Agreement for Aperture Card service. and all
renewals thereof. with the County of San Bernardino Assessor's Office. a copy
of which is attached hereto marked Exhibit "1," and incorporated herein by
reference as fully as though set forth at length.
SECTION 2. This resolution is rescinded if the parties to the
Agreement for Aperture Card Service fail to execute it within sixty (60) days
of the passage of this resolution.

This agreement, made this
day of

Office of Assessor, County of San Bernardino, and the City of San dernardino
for the term of

months is as follows:
WHEREAS,
The Office of Assessor is making available Assessor's maps, to all
interested parties, in the medium of 35 MM Aperture Cards the following
is agreed to:
1. OFFICE OF ASSESSOR AGREES:
A. To furnish thp Citv 3f San dernardino with --1- aperture card master
set(s) of Assessor's maps, as delineated on Exhibit "A" attached.
B. The schedule for delivery of said set(s) shall be agreed upon by both
parties.
C. To furnish the City of San 'Bernardino
with an update service in
the form of duplicate card(s) of all changes to Assessor's maps, which
occur after the date of the initial master set.
D. The schedule for delivery of said updates shall be agreed upon by both
parti es.

AGREES:
A. Not to sell or duplicate an aperture card of any Assessor's map.
B. Not to hold the Office of Assessor liable for any omission, error, or
mistake in said data appearing on aperture cards of Assessor's maps.
C. Assessor's maps are prepared for one purpose - that of identifying an

Assessor's Parcel Number for AD VALOREM TAXATION ONLY.

D. To pay for a master set (s) of aperture cards on or before January 1, 1991
and to make payments to the Office of Assessor on a monthly basis for
updates as bills are submitted, in the amount set forth in Exhibit A
to the agreement.
3. BOTH PARTIES AGREE:
A. This agreement shall be in effect for the period specified and may be
renewed for succeeding periods, as mutually agreed upon.
B. Termination. This agreement may be terminated at any time by either
party by giving a ninety (90) day notice in writing to the other, and
this agreement shall terminate forthwith ninety (90) days following
the date said written notice is given.
C. This agreement shall be governed by and construed under the laws of
the State of California. If any of the provisions or portions of this
agreement are invalid ,under any applicable statute or rule of law,
they are to that extent to be deemed omitted.
4. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, THE PARTIES HERETO HAVE EXECUTED THIS AGREEMENT, AS OF
THE DATE BELOW.
