STAFF REPORT
Bids for the construction of a storm drain in Redlands
Boulevard were opened at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 1990.
A total of 18 bids' were received, ranging from
$330,000.00 to $573,520.00. The low bid of $330,000.00 is 17.5%
below the Engineer's estimate of $399,980.00.
Listed below is the total estimated project cost, based
on the actual low bid price:

2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A
CONTRACT TO CORNISH CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. FOR CONSTRUCTION
3 OF A STORM DRAIN IN RED LANDS BOULEVARD, HUNTS LANE TO WATERMAN
AVENUE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
5 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1. Cornish Construction Company, Inc. is the
7 lowest responsible bidder for: Construction of a Storm Drain in
8 Red1ands Boulevard, Hunts Lane to Waterman Avenue, in accordance
9 with Plan No. 8072; for the total amount of $330,000.00, a
10 contract is awarded to said bidder accordingly, but such award
11 shall be effective only upon the contract being fully executed by
12 the parties; all other bids therefore are hereby rejected; and
13 the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute said
14 contract on behalf of the City; a copy of the contract is
15 attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by
16 reference as fully as though set forth at length.
17 SECTION 2. This contract and any amendment or modifica-
18 tions thereto shall not take effect or become operative until
19 fully signed and executed by the parties and no party shall be
20 obligated hereunder until the time of such full execution. No
21 oral agreements, amendments, modifications or waivers are
22 intended or authorized and shall not be implied from any act or
23 ourse of conduct of any party.

SECTION 3. This resolution is rescinded if the parties
25 0 the contract fail to execute it within sixty (60) days of the
26 assage of this resolution.
