STAFF REPORT
The proposed resolution will increase the Utility User's Tax
by 1% from 8% to 9% but will delay collection until May 1, 1991.
We are informed that this 1% increase represents approximately
$1.6 million increase in revenue.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO INCREASING THE SERVICE USERS TAX AS ESTABLISHED BY
3 SBMC CHAPTER 3.44 AND SUSPENDING THE COLLECTION OF SAID INCREASE
UNTIL MAY 1, 1991.

WHEREAS, Chapter 3.44 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code

has established certain Service Users Taxes on Telephone use,
7
Cable TV use, Electricity use and Natural Gas use, and
8

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Mayor and Common Council
of the City of San Bernardino to adjust the current Service Users
Tax but to delay collection for six (6) months,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Telephone User's Tax as established by San
Bernardino Municipal Code Section 3.44.030.A. is hereby increased
from 8% to 9%.
SECTION 2.
The CATV User's Tax as established by San
Bernardino Municipal Code Section 3.44.040.A. is hereby increased
from 8% to 9%.
SECTION 3.
The Electricity User's Tax as established by
San Bernardino Municipal Code Section 3.44.050.A. is hereby
increased from 8% to 9%.
SECTION 4.
The Gas User's Tax as established by San
Bernardino Municipal Code Section 3.44.060.A. is hereby increased
from 8% to 9%.
SECTION 5. This resolution is effective when adopted.
SECTION 6.
The collection of the 1% increase in the
Service User's Taxes provide for by Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of
this resolution is hereby suspended until May 1,. 1991.
