F-90-20
The proposed purchase is for two (2) street asphalt patch trucks to be
utilized in daily operations by the Public Services/Street Department.
At the request of the department, appropriate specifications were
prepared, published and furnished to area suppliers. Bids were publicly
opened and declared on August 2, 1990. The fOllowing is a summary of
bids received.

Twenty-two (22) suppl i ers of thi s commodi ty were sol i ci ted. Ten (10)
responded, three (3) with no bid and seven (7) valid bids.
Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Fleet Manager who in
his memo dated August 29, 1990 concurs that the bid of Fairview Ford
Sales Inc. is acceptable. It has been determined that tolerances were
based on excess of need rather than practical application. It is
therefore recommended the bi d that has been determi ned adequate be
accepted for contract. The equipment funding is in the 1989/90 budget.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A PURCHASE ORDER TO
FAIRVIEW FORD SALES INC. FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF TWO (2) STREET
ASPHALT PATCH TRUCKS, TO BE UTILIZED BY THE PUBLIC SERVICES/STREET DEPARTMENT
IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-90-20.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Fairview Ford Sales Inc. is the lowest and best
responsible bidder for the furnishing and delivery of two (2) street asphalt
patch trucks in accordance with Bid SpeCification F-90-20 for the total amount
of $98,096.84; pursuant to this determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby
authorized and directed to issue a purchase order for said two (2) street
asphalt patch trucks to said lowest and best responsible bidder; such award
shall only be effective upon the issuance of a Purchase Order by the
Purchasing Agent; and all other quotations therefor are hereby rejected..
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by
