Synopsis of Previous Council action:
In June, 1988, the Mayor arxl Chrmnrt CDmcil ~ a>B:; fun:tiJ'g for the
Center for Inllviduals with Disabilities to ocnstruc:t a patio canopy adjacent
to the kitchen in the ll1!Dlmt of $5,000.00.
Recommended motion:
That CDBG funding for the Center for Individuals with Disabilities in
the amount of $2,500 be approved to cover higher construction cost
estimate for construction of a patio canopy; and that the total amount
awarded to this project be increased to $7,500.

In June, 1988, the Mayor an:i Chmlnrt cnmcu a~ CE furxlin;J in
the ann.mt of $5,000.00 to oonstruct a patio can:py adjacent to the
Center for In:livimUl'" with Disabilities' kitd1en area :fran the FY
1988/1989 CE allocation. Estimates were subsequently received
:fran qualified vendors. 'lhese estimates indicated the original cxm-
struction cost estimate was sanewhat umerstated.
In July, 1990, the Director of Parks, Recreaticn an:i C'hrmII"lity ~

SUBJECT: C.I.D. KITCHEN PATIO CANOPY PROJECT

The Center for Individuals with Disabilities is funded in the
amount of $5,000 in CDBG funds to construct a canopy on the
kitchen patio. Preliminary estimates indicate the cost will
run approximately $7,500.
A recently completed project at the C.I.D., the exercise
course, was funded at $20,000 and cost a total of $14,849, a
savinqs of $5,151. This memo is to request that $2,500 of
the savinqs be made available for the patio project and
transferred to account (121-544-57960).
Your expedient attention to this matter will be qreatly
appreciated.
