STAFF REPORT
Bids for installation of new ballfield lighting systems for Nunez Park were opened at
2:00 p.m., Tuesday, 7-24-90.
A total of 7 bids were received, ranging from $177 ,700.00 to $242,332.00. The low bid
of $177,700.00 is 4.5% over the Engineer's Estimate of $170,000.00.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost, based upon the actual low bid
price.

Engr. & Inspect (W.O. #1865) 17,000
Sub-Total $ 194,700
Contingencies (10%) +/- 19,300
Total $ 214,000
The following amounts have been allocated in the Park Construction Fund, under Account
No. 243-363-57531, to finance the cost for development of Nunez Park. Replacement of
the ballfield lighting systems will be the first phase of the development of this park.

CONTRACT TO ELECTRO CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION FOR INSTALLATION OF
3 BALLFIELD LIGHTING SYSTEMS FOR NUNEZ PARK.
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE r~AYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I.
Electro Construction Corporation is the
lowest responsible bidder for:
Installation of Ballfield
L i ghti ng Systems for Nunez Park, in accordance wi th Pl an No.
8098; for the total amount of $177,700.00, a contract is awarded
to said bidder accordingly, but such award shall be effective
only upon the contract being fully executed by the parties; all
other bi ds therefore are hereby rejected; and the Mayor is
hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract on
behalf of the City; a copy of the contract is attached hereto,
marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference as fully
as though set forth at length.
SECTION 2. This contract and any amendment or modifi-
cations thereto shall not take effect or become operative until
fully signed and executed by the parties and no party shall be
obl i gated hereunder unti 1 the time of such full executi on. No
oral agreements, amendments, modifications or waivers are
intended or authorized and shall not be implied from any act or
course of conduct of any party.
SECTION 3.
This resolution is rescinded if the
parties to the contract fail to execute it within sixty (60)
days of the passage of this resolution.
