A storm drain is to be installed in Palm Avenue, from the
Cable Creek Channel to Washington Street. The estimated cost
of this storm drain is $146,472.00.
There are three parcels that front on this section of Palm
Avenue. The Assessment Engineer has assessed the total cost
of this storm drain to these three percels. Two of these
parcels are large. The extra as.sessments for the storm drain
does not increase the debt on these parcels to more than 50%
of the true value. However, the third parcel, Assessllent No.
182, is small and the assessment for the storm 'drain
increases the debt in excess of 50%. More than $400,000.00
in storm drainage fees have been collected in the Verdellont
area. Since the Palm Avenue Storm Drain will receive storm
waters from a large portion of Verdellont, it would seem
appropriate that the cost of the Palm Avenue storm Drain be
financed from the Storm Drain construction Fund as a con-
tribution to the district.
Therefore, the following form motion is recommended:
1.
That the transfer of $146,472.00, from Account No.
248-368-57813, npershing Avenue, from 40th Street
to 48th street", to Account No. 251-663-53925,
"Verdemont Area Improvement District No. 987", be
approved.
