APPROVAL OF $1,000 EACH FROM STAFF REPORT
2ND AND 7TH WARD PARK
EXTENSION FUNDS FOR THE
INSTALLATION OF CABLE TELEVISION
AT PERRIS HILL PARK SENIOR CITIZENS
CENTER.
The Perris Hill Park Senior Citizens Center is in an area with
extremely poor television reception. Homes in the area are
serviced by Cable Television due to this poor reception. The
nearest access for cable for the center is across 21st Street
and adjacent to the YMCA. To bring cable to the center will
require boring 75 feet underneath the street and trenching 190
feet to the center. Cost for this will be approximately
$2,000.
The senior patrons at the center have indicated a strong
interest in having cable installed. The monthly service
charge for cable will be paid through fund raisers conducted
by the center. The television set itself was acquired through
this manner.
This request has been coordinated with the Council Office.
