STAFF REPORT
The Traffic Engineering Section was requested, through a
petition, to prohibit parking on Kendall Drive (S.R. 206)
adjacent to its intersection with Wagonwheel Road.
The residents of the adjacent tract requested that a "No
Parking" zone be established to alleviate the sight restriction
caused by semi trucks parking regularly along the south side of
Kendall Drive, at the intersection of Kendall Drive and
Wagonwheel Road.
An investigation was conducted by the Traffic
Engineering staff which verified the complaints of the
residents. In order to improve the stopping sight distance at
this intersection, the Traffic Engineering staff recommends that
parking be prohibited 600' west of Wagonwheel Road on Kendall
Drive and 200' East of Wagonwheel Road on Kendall Drive.
This issue/recommendation was discussed at the March 14,
1990, Traffic Safety Committee meeting. At the meeting, the
Committee voted in favor of the staff recommendation.
None of the residential dwelling units located on the
south side of this section of Kendall Drive front the area where
parking prohibition is sought. Therefore, there is no parking
demand along this portion of Kendall Drive.
Staff recommends that the request/recommendation that
parking be prohibited 600' west of Wagonwheel and 200' east of
Wagonwheel Road along Kendall Drive be approved by Council.
