Recommended motion: That the Salary Range for Mobile Home Rent Director be established at Range 4388 ($3071-$3733/month), and that the Director of Personnel be instructed to prepare the necessary amendments to Resolution Nos. 6413, 6433 and 10584. This is an unclassified position. Per the adopted ordinance, this is a division head position in the City Administrator's Department. The qualifications are similar to those for other division head positions. The recommended salary is Range 4388 ($3071-$3733 per month). A copy of the page of the current salary resolution (Resolu- tion No. 6413) showing where this position would be is attached for your information. It is recommended that: 1. The Mobile Home Rent Director salary range be established at 4388 ($3071-$3733) and that the Director of Personnel be instructed to prepare the necessary amendments to Resolution Nos. 6413 and 6433 accordingly. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES Establishes and maintains procedures implementing the Mobile Home Rent Program: directs the day-to-day operations of the office: supervises staff in the perforaance of the duties of the office: serves as Secretary to the. Rent Board, preparing analyses and recommendations concerning agendized items, carrying out actions of the Board, and maintaining an accur- ate record of its proceedings: conducts studies and investi- gations of tenant and landlord complaints and disputes; seeks to resolve such matters to the satisfaction of both parties; insures compliance with laws governing rent increases; reviews requests for exceptional increases; conducts prelimi- nary negotiations, processes petitions by tenants and land- lords, and makes recommendations to the Board; publicizes the availability of rental assistance and evaluates applications: for rent subsidies for low-income tenants; insures the provision of civil code enforcement and building inspection services in coordination with the Department of Planning and Building and Services: informs tenants and landlords of their legal obligations for such services: registers all mobile home spaces withIn the City, collecting and maintaining completed registration forms and fees: prepares comprehensive written report at least semi-annually to the Rent Control Board, Mayor and Common Council on the activities of the office. MINIMUM OUALIFICATIONS Sixty semester units of college including coursework in public or business administration or a closely related field, and 2 years of administrative experience in a public or private non-prOfit agency including 1 year involving rent control or review. possession of a valid Class "C" California Drivers' License. GENERAL OUALIFICATIONS Knowledae of: Principles and practices of public administration; Research techniques and procedures; Advanced public relations techniques: Mediation and conflict resolution techniques. page 1 of 2 - Abilitv to: .
