Recommended motion:
That the City Engineer and City Clerk are authorized to proceed with adding Tentative
Tract No. 13603 to Assessment District No. 997 for the maintenance of landscaping in
the Chestnut Area.

STAFF REPORT
A petition has been received by this office requesting the formation of an assessment
district for the maintenance of landscaping along the proposed Chestnut Equestrian
Trail (Vacated Chestnut Avenue) for Tentative Tract No. 13606.
This petition is the result of requirement by the City for the Developer to establish
the district.
On April 16, 1990, the Mayor and Common Council authorized the City Clerk and City
Engineer to proceed with establishing a landscape maintenance district in the area in
question. Due to the proximity of the new request to the existing authorization, it
is recommended that Tentative Tract No. 13603 be included wi thin the boundaries of
District No. 997.
The assessment will include maintenance of landscaping, energy costs, and
administrati ve costs. The signatures affixed to the referenced petition have been
checked and found to represent the owners of 100 percent of the area to be added to
the proposed maintenance.
The developer wi 11 be required to up-front the cost of the proceedings for
establishment of the district.
