Synopsis of Previous Council action:
ADOPTED RESOLUTION NO. 87-155 IMPLEMENTING A LONG TERM DISABILITY (LTD) PLAN WITH STANDARD
INSURANCE COMPANY IN MAY, 1987, FOR MANAGEMENT/CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES. ON MAY 15, 1989,
ADOPTED RESOLUTION NO. 89-128 ADJUSTING PREMIUMS. ON MARCH 5, 1990, ADOPTED RESOLUTION
NO. 90-66 AUTHORIZING THE ADOPTION OF LTD POLICY NO. 602422.
Recommended motion:
THAT THE FOLLOWING MONTHLY RATES FOR STANDARD LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY'S LONG TERM DISABILITY
POLICIES WITH THE CITY BE SET EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 1990, THROUGH JULY 31, 1991:

STAFF REPORT
The City contracts with standard Life Insurance Company to
provide Long Term Disability Insurance coverage to Management/
Confidential and Middle Management employees.
On June 1, 1989, the current rates were set as follows:
Management/Confidential
Middle Management
$21.15 per member
$21.70 per member
Effective August 1, 1990 through July

This represents a 10% increase for Middle Management and an
11% increase for Management/Confidential.
The City pays the premiums for Management/Confidential
employees in accordance with the terms of Section 2E of
Council Resolution No. 89-129. The City's added cost for this
increase in premiums in fiscal year 1990-91 is $3,180.
Middle Management employees pay the premiums for their
coverage in accordance with Article 10 of their MOU.
