Synopsis of Previous Council action:
June, 1989 -- Allocation of $40,000, under Account No. 001-323-
56251, for replacement of skylights in Central
City Mall, approved.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for replacement of exterior doors at Central
City Mall, in accordance with Plan No. 8014, be approved; and
the Director of Public Works/City Engineer, authorized to
advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for the replacement of exterior doors at Central
City Mall have been prepared by the Engineering Division, and
the proj ect is ready to be advertised for bids. The proj ect
consists, in general, of replacing 25 pairs of the original
doors, and moving a pair of doors from the g~ound level to the
second level at the "E" Street Arcade entrance.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project costs:
Construction Contract $ 29,843
Engineering & Insp. (W.O. #1380) 1,940
Sub-Total $ 31,783
Contingencies (4%) ! 1,217
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 33,000
An amount of $29,597 was carried over from the 1989/90
Fiscal Year. In addition, an amount of $40,000 was allocated in
the 19B'/9f Fiscal Year Budget, under Account No. 001-323-56251,
for capital improvements for the Central City Mall.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authoriza-
tion granted to advertise for bids.
