The Personnel Department's recommendation for salaries for the new classifications are also listed below. All the additional positions recommended by the Council Personnel Committee have been costed for 12 months at step 5 of their salary range plus 30% for fringe benefits. The recommended monthly salary range is 4448, $4,143-$5,036. The Planning Division Manager supervises 2 principal Planner positions and would be paid 8.9% above the Principal Planner. The Personnel Department has evaluated the request to reclassify the Senior Secretary position in the Planning Department budget to Administrative Operations supervisor II. That position supervises 1 Secretary, 1 Account Clerk II and 6 Typist Clerk II positions. As the supervisor of the Administrative Support Section, this position will also super- vise 3 Planning Aides and play a critical role in the newly combined department and should be upgraded to Administrative Operations Supervisor II. Consideration of the request for a Senior Plan Check Engineer was delayed at this time. The Committee requested staff to prepare a report concerning the activities of the current code enforcement staff before a decision is made concerning the proposal to add a Building Division Manager and ~ Code Compliance Officers to the department.
