Recommended motion:
That the plans for roof replacement for the Thrifty Building
(City Hall Annex), in accordance with Plan No. 8074, be approved;
and the Director of Public Works/City Engineer authorized to ad-
vertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for the replacement of the roof for the Thrifty
Building have been prepared by the Engineering Division and the
project is ready to be advertised for bids. The project entails
removing the original roofing materials and installing a
modified bitumen roofing membrane.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost.
Construction Contract $ 43,500
Engineering & Insp. (W.O. #1360) 3,000
Sub-Total $ 46,500
Contingencies (5%) :!: 2,300
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 48,800
An amount of $300,000 has been provided by the Redevel-
opment Agency to finance the cost of renovating this building
for a City Hall Annex. According to the latest estimate, an
addi tional $292,500 will be needed to fully finance the total
cost of renovation. This amount will be loaned by the Rede-
velopment Agency to cover the total renovation cost. The cost
for replacing the roof will be financed from these funds.
We recommend that the plans be
authorization granted to advertise for bids.

will -ceed to be granted at the meeting of 3-5-90, in order to
comp~1 with the schedule for renovating the building.
