C;ty for abatement and propert;es are be;ng l;ened. -- - --- -- 1 2 RESOLUTION NO. 3 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ASSESSING CERTAIN PARCELS OF 4 REAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO FOR THE COSTS OF 5 ABATEMENT OF PUBLIC NUISANCES (ABANDONED VEHICLES) ON SAID PROPERTIES 6 WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino, pursuant to its authority under 7 Chapter 8.36 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code, did lawfully give notice 8 of and thereafter abate public nuisances found to exist on the properties 9 listed below; and 10 WHEREAS, pursuant to the San Bernardino Municipal Code, the Director 11 of Facilities Management Department served notice on all property owners of 12 the abatement costs for removing abandoned, wrecked, dismantled, and/or 13 inoperable vehciles or parts thereof from the property; and 14 WHEREAS, opportunity for a hearing before the Board of Building 15 Commissioners to protest the abatement costs was afforded the property 16 owners, with no response forthcoming; 17 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE 18 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 19 SECTION 1. The above assessments shall be paid to 2 Facilities Management Department, basement of City Hall, 300 3 North "0" street, San Bernardino, CA 92418, within thirty (30) 4 days after notice of this resolution is mailed to all parties 5 with an interest in the above properties. All assessments not 6 fully paid in thirty (30) days shall become a lien on the 7 property pursuant to the San Bernardino Municipal Code and shall 8 be collected as a special assessment thereon. 9 SECTION 3. I f the above assessment is not paid as 10 hereinabove provided, a City Clerk is directed to file a 11 certified copy of this resolution with the Auditor of the County 12 of San Bernardino, State of California, directing that said 13 assessment be entered as a lien against the property as it 14 appears on the current assessment rolls.
