STAFF REPORT Funding for Roosevelt Bowl programming was aporoved by the Ways and Means Committee at their January 16th meeting. Funding will be appropriated out of the Cultural Enhancement Fund. Programming will include: RITES OF SPRING at the Bowl during May and June, 1990: Three performances at the Bowl and two at La Plaza Park. LA PLAZA A Mariachi Band. . . . . . San Bernardino Community Concert Band. $1,000 $1,000 $ 300 $1,500 $ 300 BOWL A Country and Western Band A Contemporary Jazz Band . Ballet Folklorico Cultural INDIAN SUMMER SERIES at the Bowl during September and October 1990. A Country and Western Band A Reggae Band. . . . . An Indian Drum Band. . Big Country Chordsmen. A Latin Band. . . A Light Rock Band. . . *A Senior's Day. . . . *A Handicapped Day. . . $1,000 $1,000 $ 900 $ 400 $ 800 $ 800 $ 500 $ 500 *These events would include entertainment, plus a possible barbecue lunch, games and contests for participants. . Staff salaries and incidental expenses will be handled within the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department budget. The above fees are subject to change and may vary, depending on which group is available. Collections would also be taken to offset some expenses. All events would be admission free to the public and advertised as a service of the City of San Bernardino. The Marketing Department of the San Bernardino County Sun would probably assist again with free advertising as a public service. News releases would be sent to other media for coverage.
