STAFF REPORT
The Engineering Division received a request to install a
stop sign at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Palm
Avenue, in the Verdemont area,
A study was conducted by the Traffic Engineering
Section, which indicated that there is sufficient justification
to warrant the installation of stop signs at Garfield Avenue,
and also at Verdemont Drive,
Extending the through highway status, that currently
exists on Palm Avenue between Cajon Boulevard and Ohio Avenue,
to Verdemont Drive, will enable stop signs to be installed at
these two locations.
At their December 13, 1989, meeting, the Traffic Safety
Advisory Committee concurred with the findings of the study and
recommended the installation of stop signs at Verdemont Drive
and Garfield Avenue at their respective intersections with Palm
Avenue,
We recommend that the installation of these stop signs
be approved,

RESOLUTION NO,
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO, 655 ENTITLED, IN PART, "A RESOLUTION,
DESIGNATING CERTAIN STREETS OR PORTIONS THEREOF AS THROUGH
HIGHWAYS, ,"; AND PROVIDING TH.n..T PALM AVENUE IS A THROUGH
HIGHWAY FROM CAJON BOULEVARD TO AND INCLUDING VERDEMONT DRIVE,
BE IT RESOI"VED BY THE MAYOR AND COM.1-10N COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Resolution No. 655, which designates certain
streets or portions thereof as through highways, Section 1, is
amended by adding Subsection l3,7A to read:
"13,7A PALM AVENUE (VERDEMONT)
from Cajon Boulevard to and including Verdemont Drive,"
