Recommended motion:
That the Director of Public Works/City Engineer and City Clerk be
authorized to proceed with the proposed annexation of that area
located east of Sterling Avenue and between Pacific Street and
alley north of Rocca Street.

STAFF REPORT
Petitions for annexation have been received from 3
property owners, wi thin the area east of Sterling Avenue and
between Pacific Street and the alley north of Rocca Street.
Also, petitions have been received from owners of 19 parcels
requesting annexation into the assessment district for security
service at Highland Avenue and Arden Avenue.
This area is within our current Sphere of Influence.
The owners and tenants of this area have expressed a
strong desire to be annexed to the City of San Bernardino in
order to receive a higher level of low enforcement and be
included in the assessment district for security service. In
view of the considerable concern by owners and tenants, we feel
that an attempt to annex this area could be successful.
A new law that goes into effect on 1-1-90 will increase
the required processing by LAFCO. This additional processing
will extend the time to complete an annexation up to 4 - 6
months.
We recommend that authorization be granted to proceed.
