Council Notes: ~I CITY OF SAN BER..~ARDINO - REQUEST ~ QR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT Complaints have been received from adjoining residents relative to speeding on Orange Street, between Highland Avenue and Piedmont Drive. Orange Vehicle There is no established speed zone. Street does not meet the criteria Code for a 25 m.p.h. residential zone. This in the portion of California A Traffic Engineering Study was conducted by the Traffic Engineering Section in order to determine the appropriate speed zone for this street. The study found that there is no signifi- cant accident history and that the critical speed varies between 46 miles per hour and 50 miles per hour. Based on the data collected, we recommend that a 45 m.p.h. speed zone be established on Orange Street, between Highland Avenue and Piedmont Drive. Establishment of a 45 m.p.h. speed zone will allow radar to be used for enforcement. This recommendation was presented to the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee on November 7, 1989. ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AJ1ENDING SECTION 10.52.040 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO HUNICIPAL CODE ESTABLISHING A SPEED ZONE ON ORANGE STREET OF FORTY-FIVE MILES PER HOUR BETWEEN HIGHLAND AVENUE AND PIEDMONT DRIVE.
